Summer? Yes please!

I don’t know about you but I am more than ready for the Summer holidays to begin. As the last few days of the school year draw to a close I realise that although it has been a tough slog the sun will always come out tomorrow. After a long lockdown in Ontario we have finally been let out of our houses and you can feel the positivity radiating off every person we encounter in the street, store or at church.

Its hard not to feel positive as the temperatures increase and the days of sunshine get longer. Its as if optimism levels are slowing increasing and more and more people are feeling good about life again. But maybe you aren’t feeling positive today, maybe you are struggling in some way or maybe the sunshine just feels like another day of rain. Today I want to encourage you with these words:

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And here is another. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.

You see even if circumstances change day by day we can hold onto the truth we find in the word of God. The truth that no matter what comes today, tomorrow or in the future, good or bad, God’s word and promises don’t change. They aren’t subject to governmental laws, seasonal changes or even circumstantial shifts. His word is constant, the same yesterday, today and forever. All we need to do is take Him at it.

2 Corinthians 13:14

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Until next time be blessed, Michelle
